What drives the cost of a mobile app
The budget depends on whether the app is native or cross-platform, and on how many systems it has to talk to. A product with login, data lists and push notifications sits in a different bracket than one with payments, offline mode and an admin panel.
Native or cross-platform
Cross-platform (Flutter, React Native) means one codebase for iOS and Android — faster delivery and cheaper maintenance. Native makes sense when the app leans on hardware: camera, Bluetooth, sensors or background work.
App Store and Google Play release
Development does not end with the code. I prepare developer accounts, listings, screenshots, the privacy policy and store compliance — the usual reason a first submission gets rejected.
Who mobile app development is for
Companies that want a faster route to ordering, booking or contact than a website, teams working in the field, and SaaS products that need a mobile client with push notifications and offline mode. A first version (MVP) usually takes 6–12 weeks, delivered in short iterations with a test build after each one.
Case studies: mobile apps
Apps I designed and shipped — from a utility with over a thousand Google Play downloads to a mobile client of a larger SaaS platform.
- OSPanel mobile app — an app for volunteer fire brigades working with the SaaS platform
- IPConfig for Android — a simple network tool with over 1,000 Google Play downloads
- PhotoGO — online photo printing — an app for ordering prints straight from the phone
- Mobile photo booth — an app running a photo booth at events
